Client Follow-up & Re-engagement

A warm, personal email to a pre-venture client who went quiet — from whatever history is on file.

For: Maryland SBDC consultants and staff
Maintainer: Brandon Mason

What you get

For the client who had one session and vanished. Give it the Neoserra report or client file (or nothing at all) and it writes a short, human email that picks up where you left off and always asks for the meeting.

If the client's reply shows they actually finished something since going quiet, it will tell you which Neoserra milestone that maps to so it gets recorded.

Conversation skill. You start it by saying what you want; it asks for what it needs and hands back a deliverable in the same chat. Nothing to install beyond the plugin, nothing to configure.

What it never does

  • Never writes a generic mail-merge blast; each email starts from that client's own record.
  • Never sends — you send it from your own mail.

Step 1

What to have ready

Step 2

Setting it up

Getting it on your side

The skill is plain instructions, so it runs wherever you already work. Pick your row:

  1. Get the files: everything is in the public GitHub repository — the skills themselves, and the ready-to-install plugin file on the latest release. MIT licensed; no GitHub account needed to download.
  2. Claude desktop app: download sbdc-toolkit.plugin from the latest release, drag it into a chat, click Accept.
  3. ChatGPT: this skill is a plain Markdown file, not Claude-specific. Open skills/client-follow-up-and-reengagement/SKILL.md, copy the whole file, and paste it into a ChatGPT Project’s instructions or a custom GPT. Same instructions, same outputs.
  4. Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add bwfnx/sbdc-toolkit then /plugin install sbdc-toolkit@maryland-sbdc

Your first conversation

Open a new chat and say:

Write a re-engagement email to this client — here's their Neoserra file.

It will ask for:

  • Nothing if the file is attached; otherwise the client's name and what you last worked on together.

Step 3

How to use it

Say

Reconnect with this inactive client.Personalize an outreach email from this Neoserra report.Nudge this stalled pre-venture client back into advising.

What comes back

  • One short email in your voice that references what's on record and asks for the meeting.
  • If a reply surfaces an accomplishment: the matching Neoserra milestone to log.

Then

  • Send it yourself; paste the reply back in if you want the milestone read.

Tips from the field

  • Attach the Neoserra "All Activity by Client" export rather than typing the history — it reads the file directly.

Questions people ask

FAQ

I have a transcript from a recent meeting.
Then you want Transcript to Action Plan; this skill is for when there is no recent meeting.
Is it safe to paste client details?
Paste only what the deliverable needs. Nothing you paste is stored by the skill, but the chat itself is a record — treat it like any other working document.
It did something odd. Who do I ask?
Brandon Mason. Say which skill and what you said to start it; a screenshot of the reply helps.
